Short video of my hammer. It only opens up to this and not as full as I would like , do anyone think I have too much flow or light? Or does it need a specific trace element? Major parameters are spot on. I broadcast feed ab+ and phyto every 2/3 days and dose ezelements 1 drop every day .65 l tank. Every thing else is doing fine.

Flow looks good, flesh band looks healthy and happy.

It seems to be slowly going down hill over the year. I don't know what to do to improve it.

What are your nutrient levels and how often do you change your water. I’d imagine Dosing ab would cause some high DOC levels

You've had this hammer for more than a year and it hasn't grown beyond the 2 polyps? Do you know the par level of where it is sitting?

I agree with @Mr. Mojo Rising either par is too low or nutrients are too low or both. Looking at the polyp end themselves I think nutrients and the fact of it being only 2 heads after a year lighting is not strong enough.

The phosphates and nitrates are on the low side in my opinion. Are you using a Hanna tester for those? If so, Phosphates has a +/-0.03 margin of error which potentially means you're a lot closer to 0.

I've never had amazing luck with hammers or torches but from what I've seen they tend to like a little bit of nutrients.

Yeah lighting is low and so are nutrients. I am not saying blast it with light right away with low light and nutrients you'll want to go slow bringing both up at the same time. Euphyllia can handle a wide range of par but if you want growth the higher recommended ends are better 150-200 hammers/frogspawn 250-300 torches, but you need the nutrients to also be higher. I like to run 15+ n and .08- .1something p. Its higher than most run it but I get good growth and color. Shoot for at least 10N and .08p.

I am certainly not super experienced here, but I can agree with this solely based on my hammer's growth. Mine started out as one head back in march, and it is now 4 heads. I have mine about half way down on the rockwork. Roughly 10 to 12 inches from the top. with steady medium flow.

I am not really familiar with the settings on the prime or what level of par that setting equates to. Probably need to do some googling on settings. I have a par meter and I use it pretty regularly when setting new lights or bumping them up. I have a blade I set up upon my return to reefing. 21" grow on a tank that was 20x20x18". I set that to 100% all channels and got around 300 par about 10" down and went from there. I think it was running 70% intensity when I transferred stuff to the new tank with reefi lighting I want to say the blade was putting out 250ish par at that intensity. I do not remember the individual channel settings though, I did have a good 4hr white peak on it. I would think you could run a 30day (maybe a little longer) ramp up to 70% total intensity from where you are now. I dont know this for certain though.

What size is your tank? The light settings are very low. I have AI Prime on a 15 gallon softie tank, mostly mushrooms and zoa's, set at 80% for 10 hours per day.

Mine is a 15 gallon to. I am starting to think my light is too low so I will be ramping it up.
