So for 2 months now I have been doing the following thought it was right with our Hanna checker:
- 1 ml of reagent
- Fill to the 10ml mark with (I was using tank water)
- Zero out tester for C1
- Add reagent
- Test (I would get anywhere from 430-460)

Well today I stumbled upon a video and I guess you are supposed to do the following
- 1ml reagent
- Fill to 10ml mark with DI water
- Zero out tester for C1
- Add 100ul of tank water
- Add reagent
- Test C2

I did this method and got the same result I got of the prior measurement. How do you all test calcium with the hanna checker?

DI water is a not a good choice for the blank unless it is truly pristine megaohm water.

This device is poorly designed to be freakishly sensitive to calcium in the blank, and that is why they say to use distilled water only for the blank.
