I was looking on bulk reef supply for reagent replacements and noticed two different options for Phosphate ULR reagent refills. There is a HI736 reagent that says its used with the HI736 checker, and there is also a HI774 reagent that is used with a HI774 checker. My Phosphate checker is the HI774, There is also a HI713 checker, and the HI736 that states its for fresh and marine. Is there a difference in readings between the 736 and 774 testers? Im just curious if anyone compared the two. What if a person ordered the 736 reagent when they have a 774 tester. Would the results still be valid? Really no good point to my question than to satisfy my curiosity.

Yep, don't feel bad, I ordered the wrong stuff for mine 🤪

But I may have you covered if you have the HI717 Checker. I ordered a box of these by mistake, they are still in the plastic wrap, and the expiration is December 2027. If you can use these, DM me an address to use and I'll send them out to you.

Last year I purchased a h1736 checker and extra reagents. I meant to buy the H1774 version, but I wasn’t paying attention. The checker was inconsistent from the factory, so I returned it to Hanna and purchased the H1774 version. Rather than throw out the unused h1736 reagents, I used them in the h1774 checker. They worked and gave me similar results compared with the “correct” reagent.

I think you can change between PO4 and Phosphorus in Hanna Master checker

I appreciate the offer, but I have the 774, I didnt purchase anything by accident, just read them wrong...

There was a recent Youtube video from Tropic Marin about using their phosphate kit drops with the Hanna checker. Anybody using it that way? Drops is always easier than powder IMO.

If anyone else needs the Hanna HI717-25 reagents, shoot me a message 🙂
