Stylo are also not acropora, they are stylophora. :D

@Battlecorals Spainbow has been incredibly hardy. I have some growing at 400 par, some growing slowly at 20 par, made it through high alk and low alk, nitrate undectable, nitrate over 50 ppm (state in the photo), phosphate undectable, phosphate 1.3 ppm (state in the photo), even about 15 minutes of air exposure during a poorly planned water change.

My Spainbow is dark green and dark purple since I run my nutrients so high. Lightens up when I lower the nutrients.

Ignore the stylo in the back. It’s currently one of my butterflies’ favorites.

If the question is sps, then the answer is my purple stylo that has survived the worst I’ve thrown at it.

If you’re looking purely at acropora, the difference doesn’t really seem like it’s significant from one to another, but the ORA staples are rock solid. Blue Voodoo, Tricolor Vidalia, Purple Polyp, etc.

Are there different variants of Green Slimmer? The following large sps was sold to me as a green slimmer in 2008 and it was different then in my previous picture. Xenia never had a chance of choking it out either.

I love green slimer. I have a very small frag in my tank. I wish I could purchase a huge colony. I just don't know where.
Bali Slimers seem to be very resilient.

I feel your pain. ;Blackeye At one point the hardiest coral was the one that never made it into my system!

Just learn from your mistakes and stick with it. Once you turn the corner you will look back and wonder why you struggled so much.

I do not believe there is any one supper hardy acro and everyone's systems are different and everyone's problems are different.

Last year I had a nutrient problem where my phosphate dropped too low too quick and my alkalinity spiked. In a blink of an eye I lost my:

• Garf bonsai,
• red planet
• my green slimer
• Pearl Berry
• Pink Birdsnest

All considered easy, all fast growing and all were small colonies I had for a while

However the following corals among others were untouched or only slightly phased are:

• Blue matrix
• Red Diablo
• RR Rainbow Loom
• Pink Lemonade
• Tri color valida
• Red Diablo
• Shades of Fall
• Cali Tort
• Oregon Tort
• Hawkins Echinata, (didn't even loose color)
• and about a half dozen unnamed varieties

There was not rhyme or reason why some died and some survived and some continued to survive. Different corals from different places in the tank were affected.
So everyone's situation is different.
I not sure we want to confuse growing fast with hardiness, sometimes slower growing corals will be less affected by quick changes to the tank.

I would say Staghorn. At least with me they grow very well and they are very hardy.

For me it has been my blue staghorn. I've managed to almost kill the tricolor valida and bonsai that everyone else praises, but the stag has looked great and grown throughout my tank's low points the past 2 years.

I have this WWC slime ball I got at RAP last year. It’s survied huge parameter swings, dinos, lights out for 1 1/2 months straight due to the dinos. I forgot about that frag and had transferred everything out to my temp frag tank. Saw the frag one day inside my 120 all white, brittle, basically breaking down. Stuck it in the frag tank and it’s colorofn back up nicely. So yea an anacropora or tenius
