Does anyone know why he might not be trying to create a spot for him self. I haven't seen his foot attached to anything yet, he just chills in that one spot. It's only been a week and I can't see if his mouth is open or not

The base doesn't look damaged. Have you tried sticking the base in a crevice and just shutting off all your pumps for about an hour? Once he attaches to something, he'll move to wherever he wants in the tank.

I tried the crevice but with pumps on. I'll try that now (sn: he wasn't attached at the fish store but I thought I might be because it was all glass and long tentacle prefer sand)

When I purchased mine it was in a bare bottom tank. He put his foot down as soon as I placed him in the tank. Has yours moved around the tank yet? Or does he just stay in that spot? He looks fine from the pic. Mine very seldom attaches to the glass through the sand. You might also try using a pvc coupling as a prop to get him upright. I have read where people actually dig a hole in the sand and place their nem in the hole and cover up the foot. Not sure how successful that would be as if he doesn't like it, he will just retract. I have had mine about 6 months with a BTA and love them. Hard to believe such a gelatinous mass could have so much personality[emoji23].

Lol. I just put my in that crank behind him and turned off the pumps. He has been moving but I think it may have been the pumps

So an hour later, he pushed his self out the whole but his foot isn't touching anything. I put on my air pump for some surface movement, but I'm going to give him another hour then it's lights out

Two and a half hours after turning off the pumps, he crawled out the crack and plopped down on his side again. Maybe he is just a weirdo

I'll try this but I'm starting to think he might just be weird. While he won't stay up right, he is eating and pooping like normal

I'm trying the pvc trick now with leftovers from my sump, but (assuming it works) how will I get rid of it later for him to grow?

If the coupling becomes uncomfortable, he will move. Can't tell how big the nem is from the pic.

He was sold a lta, but it's my lighting. When it's blue leds only, he is gray with green tips

Is he on the rock? Ltas normally prefer sand, while I have seen sebaes on rock and side glass higher in the aquarium. Hopefully he will get better color with some tlc.

I tried to get him in the sand through here. I tried burying him, sticking him in a crevice and the pvc trick, none worked so now he's sitting on that rock. He won't sit his foot anywhere.
But yours looks great, I can't wait until mine grows

Thoughts on him strinking so small? He might be the size of a quarter, maybe a little larger

My Lta shrinks to nothing but a ball at times, usually late in the evening when the lights are ramped down to minimum. Almost like bedtime. Your params are good?

Slight trace of ammonia, zero nitrate and nitrite. If that's true about yours then I should probably be fine. It's lights off in 30 minutes
