I have read every post about heaters on here and I am still undecided.
I am setting up a 450G fish only build, currently have a 180 with a finnex that has been great.
Eheims have caught my attention because a 300w heater is good for 265G. Is this accurate info? In theory 2 Eheim heaters would be enough? It's fish only so not as worried about temp swings. They may run more to keep up, but I would choose that over using more amps and the need to run another dedicated breaker and wire, like If I was running 1200w of finnex heaters.
The tank is acrylic with a fully enclosed top. It will be in my basement which gets down between 63 and 65 degrees in the summer when the ac is running. In the winter it's a little warmer 68 to 70 degrees. Also plan on using a Ranco to prevent any overheating. I have been researching this to death and look forward to all of your expert advice.

If you are planning to keep it around 78 deg. F, the Eheims (2) will probably run close to constantly during the summer. The fully enclosed top will help with reducing the cooling by evaporation. Since you are going fish only. the temp changes will be very gradual and should not adversely effect the fish
