I just created my account on here though I’ve been researching for months now, I have a 36 gallon fish tank right now I have the following:
2 Occelaris clownfish(I can’t spell)
1 yellow watchman goby
I plan on getting a flame angelfish and possibly a mandarin goby because I just put in a lot of copepods. Please recommend what other fish I should get thank you

I forgot to mention, I’m also gonna add a green spotted puffer to this tank that I’m slowly acclimating to saltwater

Honestly sounds like you got a full tank already. Once you add the angelfish, mandarin, and puffer, its full.

Ok thank you for your advice, what fish would you recommend if I don’t get the flame or the mandarin goby

Any type of goby or blenny will do, cardinal fish, bassletts, smaller wrasses, these are all peaceful nano fish. There are also chromis, damsels and dottybacks if you wanted slightly more aggressive fish... Do some google searches like "marine fish for 40 gallon tank" and you will get loads of lists. Good luck

I had a 36g bowfront and I usually had 6-7 fish. Midas blennies, and actually most blennies are nice but I am partial to midas's. Royal grammas are great for the punch of color. Firefish gobies are nice and so are cardinalfish. Both of those will stay in the upper third of the tank. Small gobies that stay on the sand near rocks like masked gobies are nice. I would be careful with damsels as a lot of species get aggressive but yellow tail damsels add a nice blue color to the tank and activity and are fairly peaceful.

I would love to have Midas blennies but I read that they can kill fish with one venomous bite, and I might get firefish instead of the mandarin goby

Midas blennies aren’t venomous. There does seem to be some recent issues with unhealthy fish though.

The fish you’re thinking of is the canary blenny, a type of fang blenny. As a whole, the fang blennies rarely actually bite fish, and fatalities are even rarer. It’s usually a defense mechanism for predation rather than other fish.

I’d be wary of the green spot. They are quite aggressive and aren’t reef safe.

Wait I just researched again, I thought canary blennies had another name(I though canary blennies and Midas blennies were the same fish)

I know they aren’t reef safe, but he’s literally the most docile fish that I’ve had, he used to get bullied by a swordtail smh

What fish should I get that you would recommend more than the Midas, because now I’m planning on getting the Midas blenny

I never trust a clown (but I have bad experiences with them), so between them and the puffer I’d be hesitant with most additions.
Since you have the clown pair and the goby already, I would focus on rock dwelling fish like basslets or some of the more docile dottybacks (orchid, indigo).
As far as angels, I wouldn’t do a flame. Full grown they can get a decent size, and will have little swimming room in a 3 foot tank. Smaller tanks lead to aggression issues. Instead, I would do a smaller species like cherub or flameback (my flameback is generally laid back).

Both of those dottybacks are so incredibly beautiful but I know people who have gotten large fish killed by them, even in a large tank, also do you think that maybe I could get a flagfin angelfish or a coral beauty?

Definitely not a flagfin. A coral beauty is hit or miss. Mine got aggressive in a 40B, others have no issues.

Well, different by quite a bit than your stocking list, but this is my 36 gallon bowfront:

5 Erectus Seahorses
2 Blue Stripe Pipefish
1 Janss Pipefish
1 Yellow Multibanded Pipefish
3 Yellow Headed Jawfish
1 Masked Goby
1 Red Firefish
1 Blue Flasher Wrasse
1 Tailspot Blenny
4 Spotted Garden Eel
2 Ocellaris Clownfish
2 Blue Mandarin Dragonet
