Hello reef people! I just created my account and thought I should introduce myself! My name is Chris. I’m 13 years old and have been researching and learning about the reef hobby since I was 11. I don’t have a tank yet but I plan to make my first sometime in 2025. I’m a big fan of softies like torches and zoas. I also love reef fish and animals like shrimps. I won’t post much until I start my tank but I’ll be looking at the wealth of information on this site often. Thanks for all the information I’ve gotten over the years from this site!

All my friends and enemies used to ask me how come I didn't spell Kris like you do?

How come you are waiting until 2025? This is a big board and there are probably 5 or 6 reefers who live in Los Angeles who might be able help you with stuff to get started. I live in San Diego and I have seen a couple of free tanks that folks down here were willing to give away because they didn't need them anymore.

I remember my mom was big on putting off my first tank but eventually she gave me enough BLue CHip Stamps so I could get a MetaFrame slate bottom aquarium and bubble and floss submersible filter set up that got me going in fish. Then big tanks, then saltwater, and I hope you can get going soon enough!
