Hi everyone!
My name is Natasha, and for now, I live between three countries — the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Serbia. But at the beginning of next year, I’ll be moving permanently to my home in Serbia, and that’s when I plan to finally start my reef tank journey.

I’ve already bought a corner Juwel Trigon 350L here in the Netherlands, along with an 80cm tank for the sump, a skimmer, RO/DI unit, sand… and I’m slowly collecting everything I’ll need to build my reef, hopefully starting in March next year.

I’ve been watching tons of YouTube videos, especially advice from Ryan Batcheller. And honestly, after all I’ve seen, I’m starting to feel a bit overwhelmed and scared — like, “Oh no, what am I getting myself into? I’m totally unprepared!” There’s just so much to learn, from recognizing potential problems to mastering daily care. I sometimes wonder if I’m really ready for this…

But on the other hand, I’m also excited by the challenge! I really hope I won’t face too many setbacks and that, with all your help, advice, and shared experiences, I’ll be able to learn — preferably from others’ mistakes, not just my own — and stay motivated instead of giving up too soon.

Thank you so much for welcoming me into this community. I look forward to learning with you all and sharing this reefing journey!

Warm regards,
Natasha

Welcome to Reef2Reef and the saltwater world!

Looks like you are already off to a wonderful start with your research! And don't worry, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a reefer who wasn't overwhelmed in the beginning. Totally normal and expected! It certainly is a challenge, but so fun. Glad you're joining us!
