hello, I am brand new to this hobby. I have been researching, reading, and browsing local fish shops for several months and have now finally taken the plunge into my first tank. It is a 100 gal planet aquarium crystalline series. It is now set up and waiting for the cycle to complete prior to introducing our first fish. Will start easy and slow. Eventually will get to LPS corals but for now just starting with a FOWLR. Currently my sump has a reef octopus’s 150sss and a Current eflux dc 6009 pump. Starting with two Kessil 360 tuna blue lights. Initial live rock and dry rock put into tank with oceans direct live sand.

Looking forward to the adventure. The neat thing about this for both my wife and I is that we seem to have the same taste in fish and corals and they tend towards the easier peaceful species. As a chemical engineer I love the testing and chemistry aspects of the hobby. As an animal lover my wife likes the nurturing part.

Cheers!

Welcome Jeff to R2R! I love the setup, big fan of kessils myself :) thank you for saying hello :)

Welcome to R2R!

Nice looking setup! So freakin' clean looking! Let's see how long it stays that way, lol. I started out that way...now, outside my camera angle views it looks like WW3 hit, lol.

Let's see that build thread!

Welcome to R2R! Great looking start!

Welcome. Sounds like you both are off to a great start.... And I really hope you relish your time together as you build your little slice of ocean in your home. :)

Seems fairly rare but so special when a couple are both invested in a reef tank!

FOWLR is an excellent way to start. Good luck!
