Hello!

Welcome to R2R. Many of us here started in freshwater. Just saying... sometimes I wish I had just opted for a large freshwater puffer than switching over to saltwater. It would have been MUCH cheaper. LOL Still, I can't think of a better way to spend my time and energy than taking care of and watching my beautiful fish swim happily in my tank.

BTW, a dwarf lionfish won't get as large (most about 7 or 8 inches), so there are a few more options for tank mates with it. Mine played nice with small fish that it should have been able to suck up as food without any issues, but then... maybe I just had a premadonna fish who saw me as the food god and not the tank inhabitants? Just don't count on that happening with lionfish. If you do go saltwater, I would recommend figuring out what is your must have fish and then selecting other tank inhabitants based on compatibility with it. That way there are fewer surprises with aggression.

Glad to have you with us!

How big is it your reef tank??! They all get along?? What else do you have in it??? :3
Bowls aren't very good for bettas.. Or any fish really...
Those are in a 6’x5’ 500g mostly softy reef tank with about 70 other fish.
The Betta has been in the bowl for 3 yrs so far... the previous Betta was there for over 5 yrs... I’ve had Bettas in this same bowl for over 20 yrs.

So pretty :3 oh ok lol as long as they live
One day I want to get a gigantic tank for lots of salty fish!! I'm excited! Lol

Hii! So I'm new and I have never kept a salt water tank before. Only freshwater. I currently have 3 betta tanks, a 20 gallon community tank that I'm moving into a 65 gallon tank. so my 20 gallon will soon be empty. After I start/finish decorating it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Im actually not even sure if I want to continue with freshwater or Start with brackish or full on saltwater. All the creatures I like get too big or will eat everyone :/ I'm in love with lionfish, snowflake eels, marine betta, and coral beauty's.
Good taste of fish welcome to R2R

Hi Twisty.. Welcome to R2R.. I vote for you to go FULL ON SALT... If you gonna Run... Run with the Big Dogs... :)
Lol then maybe I'll turn my 20 into a salty tank with a pair of O.Clowns. 20 gallons isn't big enough for a figure 8 puffer or a mudskipper anyways
