Hello I have a 13.5 gal saltwater tank with Live rock and live sand I used 2 oz of dr Tim’s one and only and I put 4 drops per gal 54 drops of dr Tim’s ammonium chloride my ammonia is reading 8.0 ppm and my nitrite is reading 0.5 I think I might have messed up by adding 4 drops per gal of tank and not the water in the tank is there anything I can do to fix this or do I leave it alone

Hey thats neat proof, you are done cycling

heres why nitrite doesn’t matter, though you’ve read it does.
False ammonia reads are provided for you as examples even before this post.

your entire cycle is defined there.

you’re cycled. Do a water change to bring down those nitrates

Post pics of your rock please

we need to be able to visually proof the rocks, now that we’ve chemically proofed them.

And if it doesnt, his bacteria are dead.

jj that’s an elitist cycling nerd joke

need pics so very badly. Of the rock, it’s pigments, attachments, zones of growth and bare spots, it’s generally aged status vs bone white rock just off a shelf, brings in no bacteria.

Yes just for one pic from a cell phone of the rocks in question, up close or far away either way. Updated cycling science works off the pics, not the tests. We need the pics to be able to close out the matter for our cycle study threads.

Excellence, nice new tank your fish will love it.

well done on qt prep efforts nice job.

can you confirm that rock was wet at the pet store, it was from a typical reef holding tank is that right

wasn’t dry, on the shelf

we are 99.99% done. That final answer is the last .01

from that complete picture literally we know the origin for bacteria in your system, before you added to. Updated cycling science is nearly complete.
