A HOB with good filter material will help reduce the cloudiness. A diatom filter will fix it right away, but they are expensive.

I wasn't sure what you meant by a diatom filter so I searched some of the larger aquarium supply sites and the only ones I saw were the old eheim ones made for freshwater tanks. I then searched this forum and found this which I might try to emulate...

Only question I have is won't this strip out some of the copper I'm treating my tank with? I also thought about carbon which I use for my reef, but have a similar question about the effect on my copper levels....

Diatom filters won't remove copper. Some carbon products will remove some of the carbon.
