It's hard to say from the angle but one guess is Rolland's Damsel.

Gorgeous fish! Definitely a damsel, but an exact ID I can't help with.
I love damsels. They get such a bad rap in this hobby :(

Are they the same fish? They look very different.
Looks like a chromis in the second photo. Which is a type of damsel I believe.

To me it looks like a soldierfish or squirrelfish of some sort. Very cute! Who are the big fish id'ers nowadays?

It does look like a soldier in the second pic. The first one looks just like a damsel which is why I thought it may be a chromis. They seem to occasionally have larger eyes than a traditional damsel. But yes, had I only seen the second pic I would say a soldierfish too :)

Agree with wkscott, The big eyes look like a soldier or squirrelfish.

They are very territorial, too territorial for most reef keppers' liking
