He just closed up for the night. So long as you don't see any rips/damage, he should be fine.

That is what they do. They are 95% water and can expell it for a variety of reasons.

Yep! Mine almost completely disappears when the lights go out and is about 8 inches across when the lights are on.

Even when the lights are on, the can inflate and deflate and shrink.

This is either because they are trying to expel junk from their system...or they want to move and the contractions help the wiggle around.

When you really need to worry is when they go wide open or your water gets cloudy. (Always be ready with some water and carbon on hand btw... I learned my lesson early on keeping nems and suffered 2 major crashes I the process)
