Good day everyone!

I started a new nano tank about 3 months ago and have been battling this problem algae that showed up about a month ago! And i cannot get rid of it!

It is a 28 gal red sea reefer nano, I am running a protein skimmer and Chaeto reactor. Light cycle is 10 hours per day, 2 of which with only blues.

Tank parameters

Nitrates under<5ppm
Phos (basically undetectable)
Salinity 1.025
Calcium and Magnesium are both at acceptable levels.

currently the only tank inhabitants are 2 soft corals, a little chromis and some cuc. I dont want to add anything else until this annoying algae is gone.

Any ID or advice to get rid of it would be greatly appreciated. I have tried a 3 day black out, didnt really do much, I have also started dosing 2.8ml of 3% hydrogen peroxide every 12 hours.
Not really having any effect :(

Thanks in advance

I think they're diatoms. Totally harmless. It helps to have sand sifters, or as always I'd suggest hermit crabs!

A picture under a microscope would help with a definitive answer. The very low PO4 is a little worrisome but if this is a relatively new tank diatoms are pretty likely.

This is what some species of diatoms look like. There are three species in this picture.
