Alright I am in a bit of bind. I got my 60 gallon cube all plummed and rocking. The only problem is, no skimmer.

I need a skimmer that is quiet, in sump, and has small footprint. I have maybe 6†in diameter to play with (is going in a 10 gallon tank sump 20 1/4 x 10 1/2 x 12 9/16). The problem is, my plumbing cuts diagonally across the tank, causing a bit of a size issue.

Any suggestions you all can make would be greatly appreciated. Note, the elbow crossing the tank starts at the top, so as long as it narrows by the time it gets up to elbow crossing I am set.

I am thinking of upgrading to the Aqua Euro Aqua Bee 2000/1 Skimmer.

My LFS has one on their tank and I can say - it is quiet and pulls out a lot of junk. I like the pump a lot - its made in Germany. He swears by it.

This one, only Marine Depot was about $100 less than my LFS.

Talk to luke @ reef filtration's (they're a sponsor on here) he helped me out A LOT! Unbeatable prices too.

The SWC is ok.the 120 has a atman 1100 and doesnt move much water. I would look at maybe the Super reef octo 1000 the swc 120, or the NAC 6

Small footprint

I am running a swc 160 cone on my 50g cube but he stated that he only has a 6" footprint to work with.

It will be tough to beat the SWC 120 cone with that small of footprint. Do a search, lots of people are posting very good reviews on the performance and construction.

I have one. good construction. just not much water movement About 50 gallon tank max imo.

Mojo~

Well the 120 is made for smaller tanks : ) the 160 is a much larger capacity skimmer. Also you suggested a sro1000 which moves 1000lph water which is a bit less than the 1100lph the atman moves.
