I have a Various 8 pump I bought 2 years ago. It has only been running for 2 months now. It took me that long to buy everything I needed for the tank. I had some problems financially due to health problems. But now I came home from work and all the speed lights are blinking. I tried rebooting and still nothing it just makes a grinding noise when it tries to pump the water. I took it apart to see if anything was stopping the impeller but I didn’t find anything. I did however find some streaking on the pump that looks like it came from some friction. #HELP 09CAB2F8-16FB-421C-9DAA-58F7EBDFCC7C.jpeg

Impeller is restricted , reaso for defaults. try to remove, look inside for snails/snail shells/foreign matter. Clean and flush out and re-insert impeller (propeller with magnet) and plug in to verify running. Clean magnet also BUT with Nothing abrasive

There are no animals in the aquarium it’s still cycling.

Took it apart cleaned with RO water still doesn’t work runs for a few seconds then all the speed lights start flashing
My suspect then is power supply
Id start a ticket with manufacturer

I don’t have a backup pump. What do I need to do? # reefsquad
Keep circulation going via powerheads until you can get to an LFS and pick up a replacement

So looking at the pump when it runs the impeller is making the noise. Does anyone know where you can get a parts diagram for the pumps to see if anything might be missing. I am trying to upload a video but it’s not letting me.

@vetteguy53081 found what it is this shield looking piece has a crack in it which caused a print to rub and make the impeller move. Does Coral Vue or Reef Octopus have a account I can tag?
