Definitely on the right track . I liked the first one the best also. Giving it some height and width in equal proportions would help balance the look. [emoji4]

No. I'll have about 1 1/2 to 2 inches of reef flakes for substrate.

How soon can I move my rock structure after I've put the cement on it? The instructions say it starts to harden after 15-20 minutes and is fully cured in 24 hours...but since I did my work on the kitchen table, my wife is...ummm...encouraging me to move it sooner. :D

Or these...

my all time favorite cube aquascape. I tried to moc it a bit in mine. Didnt go the same route but I have a rock that jets out and overhangs like a bridge but doesnt connect. IDK how to explain it really...but I used it as inspiration. Back to what I was going to say about the rock. I personally dont think it ever looks good when people mix rock because it doesnt look natural. thats just my .02 cents do what YOU like!

I use fast plug for my rock and it drys in like 15mins. I have moved parts after an hour but its very brittle and the wrong bump will break it. I think it would be ok moving it after 12 hours or so just be gentle and try to get as many points of contact on it as possible while moving it. Hold the larger parts and dont pick it up where you put the majority of the weight on the cement.

Sounds like a good time to take the family out to eat lol

I really like the aquascape you came up with. I have a suitcase full of the branches of Caribsea Life Rock I brought back from MACNA. Trying to picture how to place it in the tank so watching this for ideas.

Nice start. I'm in the same situation as you. trying to aquascape with tonga branch and shelf. just started messing around with it. a little tricky. the tonga tends to tip with a shelf attached.

I used Fiji as base then built a shelf of Tonga all the way across the tank. Sometimes I wish I had used less rock but it's grown on me.
