I of my seahorse is having trouble staying down. If he is hitched he's fine. But when he start to swim he floats to the top of the water and then can't seem to get back down. Any ideas of what I need to research?

I have a couple books on seahorse care (no actual experience yet).
From my reading, I recall that male seahorses can get bubbles trapped in their pouch that cause buoyancy issues like you mention here. Massaging the belly from tail toward head may help, but find a good source of information on your issue from someone with experience so you can know more specifically how to assess and remediate your issue.

They get bubbles within pouch and often release these bubbles and return to normal- Just a slow process
