Hey Everyone iv seen some other threads going from it’s corline algea to its dying that you might need to cut off the head, to its regular algae so i figured i would post my pictures. And make my own post for some personal help. So I bought these from Manhatten Aquairums, the guy was really nice and they happen to be my first corals. I got them back in March after my tank cycled for 2 months! They are in a fluval evo 13.5. I had my LFS test to confirm tank cycled. Since than all the corals are doing well i have a Duncan, a hammer, candy cane, and an outer space Psammacora, which i hope kinda encrusts over some of the rock. I also have 2 clown fish, and 3 bubble bee snails. Everything in the tank seems to be doing great and happy, the Duncan’s starting to sprout another polyp. My water -parameters are as follows. temp 75-78f specific gravity 1.026 ( perfect ) ammiona bounes between 0-.1 same with NO2. NO3 is between 5-8. Calcium 450, Alkinlinty 8.3-7.8, Maneisum 1400 steady , and PH is 7.9 to 8.1 mostly 8.
So when i bought it honestly at first i didnt see that, also i figured it was something like algae, maybe it had to heal from being fragged. Honestly I’m new and it didnt even hit my radar. I looked at other posts and they seemed to differ, many said it might be algae or needs to heal however one or two said to cut them off it ”could be disease” and to save the coral to cut that off. However I’m brand new and i think i would learn more seeing it through and how it affects the coral itself. So i dont want to cut it to save the other three polyps. However if its something that could affect my Duncan and hammer than i will. What are yalls option. I feed reef roids once a week-week and a half, and just some frozen Reef Frenzy once a day for the clowns. What do y’all think??
