Help with clam

Hey fellow reefers I have a clam that I bought I did research about the before buying. But I had a luner wrasse which has now been removed from the tank he has picked at the clam so much that there's a massive hole but the clam is not closing anymore the clam still has flesh is he save able or something I can do to help all discussions and input will help me thank you

I don't think that clam is alive anymore sadly. You should do a "sniff Test" to make sure, but even if it was alive a clam of that size would most likely perish in a matter of time.
What's sniff test like smell it ? I'm new to clams so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question

Agree on death. I wonder if clam was already in trouble prior to wrasse's behavior as wrasse generally will not bother them
