So I have been having issues with my Apex EL rebooting, losing connections, etc. Neptune support diagnosed it to the aquabus ports on the EB832 not being able to provide 24V and recommended me to buy a new one. That seemed quite pricey, so I looked into other solutions.

I rerouted my module connections and it was stable for several months, but is now rebooting, etc. again. Here are my current connections:

EB832 - Trident (w/24V adapter), FMM, EL base
EL base - EB832, WXM (with DOS with 24V adapter plugged into it and AFS plugged into DOS)

Is there a better way of doing this short of buying another EB832? Like buying an AC adapter for the EL base and/or a 24V adapter for the FMM? I also have an unused 1link cable.

Assuming, and that's a big if, that the issue is with the power to the head unit over aquabus, 24v has nothing to do with it. Aquabus carries 12v, not 24. The head unit needs 12v to run and it is very possible that the EB832 cannot provide enough power to run it. Just read some of my repair posts on this topic, for example this one:

You can try running the head unit off of a dedicated 12v power supply plugged into its power port directly.

Thank you. Yes, I added a 12V adapter to the base and that seems to have stabilized things.
