My Miami Chalice is going through what appears to be RTN?

Day 1: PICTURE 1
Saturday June 27, 2024; Noticed a big white area covering about 25% of the area.

Days 2-3:
Area stayed the same. I thought it stopped.

Day 4/: PICTURE 2
Tuesday June 30, 2024; GOOD NEWS! Coral starting to recuperate. Stated to see less white and zoozanthela started to repopulate white areas. I thought i was on the clear.

Day 5-6
Coral keeps recuperating. All happy.

Day 7: PICTURE 3
Today, August 2, 2024… A huge white area reapeared. Now 30-35% of the coral is gone. Back to square one…

Parameters:
Temp 78
Dkh very stable at 8.3-8.6
Ca: 410-420
Mg 1340-1360
Nitrates 18 very stable
Phosphtes 0.14 very stable
Ph 7.8-8.0
Salinity 1.026 (35ppt)
Orp: 350-400

No recent change in PAR in the past 12 months.

CANT PULL OUT TO DIP BECAUSE IT IS ATTACHED TO A VERY BIG ROCK…

New to the hobby (1.5 yrs reefing) dont know how to frag a straight line under the water….

Any suggestions?

What fish/inverts do you have?
Also did it go near to any other coral?

Fish: Tangs and Angels + 2 clowns and + chromis. Bicolor blenny.
Inverts: arrow crab, emerald crab, snails, banded shrip, fire shrimp.

Just toock it under the microscope and saw many white long parasite looking worms… the move around….. dipped coral in Coral Rx for 20 min at recomended dosage… and cut the white part….

Wow! This hits home! I just recently lost a chalice I grew out and I have theories but really nothing solid. Best guess is somehow it got a bacterial infection. All other chalice and corals in my tank were unaffected. Now I wonder if it had parasites…

The “parasites” can also be there after the fact consuming the dead tissue.
