Help with my aqua scape

Hello guys,
I’m setting up my 75 gallon tank and I’ve never been good at aquascaping. I’ve attached a video of the best scape I could come up with so far. If anyone could give me tips it would help a lot. I have tons of rock I can use, I just don’t know how and what to do.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! Right now your aquascape appears to be at the same height. Consider varying the height of the three main elements and possibly space the two rocks on the left. Ultimately it is often plenty of trial and error as you find out what you prefer. Also remember that if everything goes as planned then it will be covered with coral soon so the look will be different than it is now. Good luck with whatever you choose!

try to create some depth. bring some of the structure forward and build a tower somewhere in the back for SPS or things of that sort.

attached is my 40B. notice how at the back right i have a tower for my zoas, a GSP island front left, then the main structure with caves/layers for fish and inverts to hide

Welcome!!... I'd consider making the rocks have peaks and dips ( having things different heights) I'm also a fan of making random shapes and having lots of little swimming caves and hideout spots.

Going back if I could re do my rock scape, I would also plan it more on future coral plans, (giving things their own little rock island) Having ledges at all different heights.

Welcome to R2R! I agree with @Peace River, you will probably be happier with more variety in the height of the aquascape. Varying height also gives you more possibilities for different light zones for your corals.

I agree it needs varying heights. Something that may help is breaking up some of the rocks into smaller pieces you can glue back down. All of your rocks currently are somewhat similar in size.

You could use the smaller pieces to create arms that stick out from the main structure or add height in certain areas.

If I may suggest, and this is only a suggestion. Get some clear acrylic rods and drill into the rock, and raise the rock up about 4 or 5 inches, like stilts, Glue the rods in and set on the bottom. Grab some stone fix and cement some of the upper rocks in place. Picture a flouting island.

You will not see the rods under the rock work and when the system is full of water. Just a thought

Welcome, glad you are here! I like the second one, if you like it then you do you. You got great advice. I’m not very creative, I just look at many tanks and try to duplicate the one I like. Every one has their own personal taste if not everyones scape and stocking list would be the same.
