Afternoon,

I have a month old redsea nano g2 xl, 30g tank, about a month old stared with live sand and live rock

Cycled using red sea starter set and following its advise, it said get the first fish, ammonia was 0 nitrates at 7 pH 8.2

He's a great little guy, quite shy and didn't eat for the first couple of days but I got some live brine shrimp which he loves, he'll eat frozen brine but doesn't like mysis.
Any way he flashed a few times when I got him same side always theb same rock, this has started to pick up a bit this week, left side just below the eye. He looks OK apart from that apart from a paleish patch near his tail (I couldn't get a picture to upload).
I don't think I'll be able to catch him to dip (I'm brand new so never done this before either)
Don you have any advise please? Many thanks steve

These fish are susceptible to flukes and may likely be the case. A video here would be helpful as would in the future quarantining fish to avoid outbreaks in your display tank.
I would recommend use of PraziPro for treatment and addition of air stone as Prazi reduces oxygen and appetite and dose at 85% of recommended dose and apply initial dosage known as an interval for 8 days, do a water change day nine and do one more 8 day dose interval.

Thanks vet guy, I've just seen a post here about another gramma and it's almost spot on mine! I've ordered some fluke solve (UK) version, thanks for your time 🙏

Afternoon all,
Just reaching out for some further help please as the Gramma has deteriorated .

So I dosed my 125l tank half a gram of Flukesolve last Sunday with a aeration stone, the Gramma hid for a day then came out Tuesday greatly improved; Wednesday I replaced the skimmer cup and carbon and performed a water change.

Friday both he and my tail spot blenny started flashing again so Saturday I removed the skim cup and carbon then dosed with a aeration stone in place, today the gramma didn't come out in the morning as just hiding under a rock, the blenny is flashing.
I put some brine shrimp in early which the gramma came out and ate then went back under the rock.
just tried a little food again but he didn't come out, he looks in a pretty bad way and im not sure he'll make it.

I don't have a quarantine or hospital tank, I think the Gramma won't make it and now worried about the blenny also.

Does anyone have any advice for me please? feeling pretty gutted about my fish :(
Thanks
Steve

How does the gramma “look bad”? Can you post a video of it or is it hiding too much?

I can’t find anything wrong with your basic treatment plan, but since I’m in the US, I haven’t used flukesolve, so I can’t confirm the dose.

Thanks for getting back to me Jay, just been under the rock like this for 2 days, ate a little yesterday morning then returned back to this spot until today, not sure if his gills look swollen in that picture?
He's had a white patch at the base of his tail since I brought him if that has any relevance, like no pigment in the scales

Sorry, I can't see anything of note in the photo.

I looked up flukesolve today. In addition to being 50% praziquantel, it contains two drugs that I don't have in my formulary, so I have no idea if they work, or if there are species - specific toxicity. They did have some weird information on one web site:

For use in ponds containing koi carp exclusively. Can be harmful to Sturgeon and Goldfish.

So - it says to only use with koi. Oddly, goldfish are so close relatives to koi, that they can interbreed. Why then, can it not be used with goldfish? Later on, it says it can be used in marine tanks. Too weird!

Thanks for getting back to me, the instructions aren't great, I wonder if it's the drug itself making the fish sick.
72h will be up when I get back from work so I will put the carbon back in and see if that helps.
