I have a 32 gallon biocube with intake media baskets with pinky filter floss and I can’t get my water column clean any ideas

It been going on for a bit now even when cycle it was like this
Is it sand? What are your parameters? Somewhat unrelated question. Zero insult intended, but since you and your tank are new I have to ask - was that deep sand bed intentional and do you understand the implications of running a sand bed that deep?

Probably need to be more descriptive than
“a bit”. One day? Two? A week? 30 minutes?
We have no idea what you consider to be a bit.

How long has your tank been running?
is it debris or micro bubbles?
Are you running any mechanical filtration?

I'll be honest. I have 3 tanks and none are what would be considered crystal clear. I really don't know how folks have crystal clear water. All have mechanical filtration. I even have a fleece roller in one and still have particles in the water column.

Ok any suggestions on what to use

There lots of cost-effective ways.

I've been using white 12x12 felt pads from the local art store in my media tray. I also use the white cotton material they sell in bags. This is very similar to the white filter floss they sell for use in bubbler filters.

I've been using these products for years without any negative effects. All livestock is happy and healthy.
