Hi Everyone I’m just getting started in this and super excited to start this crazy journey. what’s the best advice you would give a brand new reefer?
Buy the best equipment you CANT afford thereby buying it once. Additionally, avoid tank placement at or near window and assure tank is level
Cycle tank for at least three weeks monitoring progress with a quality test kit (Avoid API test kits).

Welcome!

My advice is educate yourself on the hobby. A mentor is great also. Go slow, add your fish one at a time (unless it is a clownfish pair) to let your bioload build up. Make an aquascape that you can take apart if need be. Make sure your plumbing is the right size for the system. Stay on top of hitchhikers and getting rid of algae before they overtake your tank. Quarantine critters. Ask lots of questions!

Hello and welcome to r2r ^_^
My advice is do lots research as much as you can on whatever stage if tank you on but also start researching further stages down the line.
Even look and read a thread on r2r here then at bottom of thread there list if other threads, choose another and read it as others questions get answered and others findings/ experiments you can read and get knowledge and then can improve your general knowledge on all sorts of wonderful things in this hobby from stocking/ compatability of fishes to coral pests to flow to lights and cuc and whatever .

Good luck and hope you get great enjoyment from your tank ^_^

Welcome to R2R! Do lots of research, decided what parameters you want and keep it stable, if everything looks happy don't change it. Too many times I have chased numbers to match how someone else runs their tank. * Patience is a must. Nothing good happens fast in reefing. ;)
