Just signed up to this forum after watching tons of Youtube Videos.
After being a scuba instructor and diving around the world I decided to get my first salt water tank since I'm now settled back home in NYC and probably will be for a few years. My only experience has been in the open ocean so giving these tanks a go.
My Build:
20 Gallon Vertical Tank
No Sump hang on AOI (Have the tank set up in my office next to my computer. Can't handle noise and not much room)
Started with 25lbs of live rock and 20lbs of purple rock (not live)
2inch biosand
Light: Wen't with a current Satellite Freshwater LED which should do the trick for a 20gallon salt water. May change the light in a few months.
Aquascape:
Some of my favorite dives have been wall dives so I went with the vertical tank to try and replicate a wall.
Also added a few pieces of dead coral I got from the GBR
Glad I joined these forums and can't wait to show off my progress in a few months!
