Hi everyone,

I’m new here. I have been in the hobby now for about 7 months and recently bought a slightly larger tank. During set up i some how managed to chip the top right corner. Looking to see if anybody has continued to set up given the size and location of the chip!

Thanks,

Welcome to R2R!
Personally I wouldn't run it. When it's full and that chip has pressure on it, the crack may continue

Having repaired many tanks, with water pressure, this is a less risky part of structure , however its 3/4 into the panel of glass increasing risk of spreading .
You can fill the tank but leave in garage or basement and water test it under pressure and see if it holds. This is one, if I asked myself, use it?. . . . . I may not take the chance.

Welcome to R2R! Sorry about your new tank. Per previous feedback, definitely test it with water in a safe space if you really really want to try to make it work. Perhaps two questions to ask yourself…
“Are you okay with always wondering if/when it might finally give out?”
“Are you okay with the possibility of damaging your personal belongings in case the tank does fail?”

I personally would not test my luck bc my answer these two questions is a very easy “no.”
