Hi. My name is Rich and somehow I was able to snag Rich's reef as my screen name! I am completely new to saltwater. I am very experienced with fresh water fish keeping.
About 6 weeks ago, I was shopping at my favorite thrift store in Ormond Beach, FL and came upon a Nano Cube DX (12 gallon) for $15!!! The lights worked, I replaced the pump and off I went!
But yes, there's more! I scored a nice 40 gallon breeder setup for a steal and now I am working on "Poor Rich's Reef", a reef on a very tight/non existent budget. I will be posting a thread on my reef very soon, stay tuned.
I was not a lurker on this site for long. This place is so great, I knew I had to sign up and participate almost immediately.
This place is such an amazing source of information and entertainment!
My other hobby is collecting and working on old ARCADE GAMES. Like Ms PacMan, Asteroids and Defender from the 80's. I have been a member of KLOV since 2008 and have a 100% with 43 transactions over years of time. I plan on continuing to participate here with the same integrity.
Arcades are not plentiful in Florida but reefing sure is!

Hello Rich ! I'm just a ways up the road from you in Jax. So Ya picked up a 12 gl Then a 40gl right? Which one do You want to setup 1st? Believe me I know all about a low dollar build ! It can be done but will require some compromise. Whatcha got hand so far?
Maybe a pump ,overflow, stuff like that.
