Hiding Wrasse! Help!

I have had a young male carpenters wrasse for almost two months now, model citizen fish! He is friendly, always active swimming all around the tank, and eats well. I came home from work today and noticed he wasn't swimming around in the open like usual. Normally he's with his buddies up next to the glass ready for dinner, but today he was absent.

On looking all over, I happened to find him under the death rock. I call it the deathrock because I have had 3 fish that ended up under it dead or dead shortly after. Even after feeding he didn't come out. I tried to see if I could pull him out to see if he had Sudden Unexplicable Death Syndrome, and he did move around some, but did not come out.

Is this normal wrasse behavior?

Not really normal behavior for a fish that's been there for 2 months I'm afraid.

Do you see any other symptoms o any fish?

Wrasse can get spooked for many reasons; I would only worry if you don't see him come out after a day or two.

He did come out of that hole but quickly found another one... wondering if McThuggin my cardinal snapped at him. He seemed very skittish when he came out.

I have a purple flasher that won't come out of it's cave, my cherub took a dislike to it a few weeks ago, I hope it settles again for you.
I am trying to catch the cherub!

It's probably due to aggression from another tank mate.
