HOB Skimmer Options

I have a skimz SH2 HoB on my 40b and it works pretty well. Took a little to break in. Was loud at first but gets real quiet. Pulls a lot of gunk out. I have to change the collection cup every 3/4 days.

Easy to clean, sleek look compared to some other hob skimmers. It’s fairly priced as well

How often do you feed? I’ve been feeding every other day, but I feel that’s too little. At the same time, I don’t want to have my nitrates shoot up

I feed frozen food twice a day. And I add some pellet food on occasion. For the corals I add Reef Roids a couple times a week.

I use the aquamax 1.5 on a 46 gal. bowfront and it works very well. For a 70 gal. it might be a little small. I think it rated for 65 gal. with lite bio load. I always try to run one that is rated for more gal. than my tank.
