Here is a short video I caught of my Hologram Monti spawning about an hour ago. I walked by my tank and saw a bunch of white floaties in the tank and realized a coral was spawning. Video was taken with my P&S camera after lights out so not great quality, but still able to see it.

If I would have walked past 5 minutes later, I would have missed it. Luckily, I always have my camera charged and ready with a disc.

It is an unusual monti I purchased as a wild about 3 yrs ago. I spread it around to a few people and they thought it needed a common name. Here is a pic of the colony. It gets green and red in the body and has polyps that are half electric blue. Higher light and lower nutrients generally makes it more green.

Thankfully it was the only one. I was worried they all might start, but they did not. I don't know that I would want a mass spawning event in my tank like I've seen in the wild. I've had stomatellas, other snails and fish spawn quite a bit, but this was the first stony coral to do it that I've caught.

I thought that at first too, but it would really be a pain if it started popping up everywhere. Pocillopora comes to mind thinking about it.
