Nice Scolymia. How do they reproduce??? Do they pop out new polyps or divide??? I only seen scolys with just the one huge polyp. Anyone have a pic of a colony??? If they make colonies?? LOL

That is super sweet! I don't know if it is $399 super sweet. Aussie Scoly's are unbelievably expensive even if your looking at a wholesale tranship list.

Its brutal.

Here is a nice one from my last Aussie shipment, not as nice as the above Scoly but alot less money.

nice coral, but it's a rip off....$399 for a common aussie scoly like that? (given that aussie scolys are very vibrant to start with, from what i've seen)....but heck, some dude will pay it, that's almost guaranteed

Guys, I picked this up today for $65, did I get taken? Is this a Scoly too? if so I think it needs some TLC as you can see its skeleton under its flesh. However I only had it a few hours so maybe it needs to settle in and comfortable...

Here is a photo...

LOL I am very comfortable with the transaction. I just think I underpaid but now think I hope it lives. Any rate, I have a fully packed sps tank and actually when I first glanced at this I thought it was a huge single head acan. I thought it was one of the coolest colored coral I have ever seen at this LFS, so I snagged it.

Wish me luck with this one.... :)

Well good news. I checked on the coral and its totally open now that the lights are out. I just fed it some mysis and it closed right up on it. So I hope this thing hangs around for some time. I have acan's and they are doing great so I assume these are somewhat the same care wise? Its on my sandbed as you can see, however I do have some nice flow in this tank but think it will be OK?

Any suggestions..
Thanks
Spankey

Medium flow will work well and the sand bed is where it belongs. You will enjoy it!! Fun to feed and fun to watch. Good to hear it is accepting foods also. Keep up the great work.
