I already make my own fish food from leftover raw fish (halibut, red snapper, tuna, bass yellowtail, sometimes squid), I chop it up pretty fine with my knife and mix in some mussels/clams/scallops and freeze it in mini ice cube trays. I take that and mix it with equal amounts of frozen mysis & brine shrimp, thaw/drain/rinse it all and feed it to my fish.
I was wondering if it would be a good idea to add fish roe to it for coral/fish food. I fed my fish some sea urchin eggs (uni) that was about to go bad and they went nuts over it, I'm a chef at a sushi restaurant & I filet several fish daily and theres always roe in it that I just throw away, usually from halibut/fluke & red snapper cut it open one time to see how small they were and they were pretty tiny, they look small enough that sps could probably catch it for food, but I don't want to pollute my tank with it and start having my nitrates and phosphates going thru the roof. Thoughts?
