Got it! Thanks a lot. However, the software has a failed "manifest" and running the software after installation you get an error pertaining that. The one I got was:
Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\HopooColor\HPCS330X\OHSP.exe".Error in manifest or policy file "C:\Program Files (x86)\HopooColor\HPCS330X\Microsoft.VC80.MFC.MANIFEST" on line 4. Component identity found in manifest does not match the identity of the component requested. Reference is Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50608.0". Definition is Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762". Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.
You can fix this by editing 1 line in two manifest files.
First, check the "OHSP.exe.intermediate.manifest" manifest file in the HPCS330X directory under your ...Programs(x86) directory
The file has two id references that may be out of sync with you installation and their own manifest files:
<assemblyIdentity type='win32' name='Microsoft.VC80.CRT' version='8.0.50608.0' processorArchitecture='x86' publicKeyToken='1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b' />
<assemblyIdentity type='win32' name='Microsoft.VC80.MFC' version='8.0.50608.0' processorArchitecture='x86' publicKeyToken='1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b' />
You need to change Microsoft.VC80.CRT.MANIFEST and Microsoft.VC80.MFC.MANIFEST files in the same directory, using notepad.
In line 4 in both of these two files, you will find a version number like above. Change these two occurrences of the version number to the same one referenced in the "OHSP.exe.intermediate.manifest" file (in the above example, they should read version='8.0.50608.0'. Save the two files and start the HPCS330X app once more. It should now work.
The worst that can happen is that you mess up. Then you have to uninstall and install the software again.
Enjoy.
