How are you re-using your filter socks?

Mine go straight into the washer with a bunch of bleach. Then get rinsed in the wash 2-3 times with water only. Then they air dry for about 3-5 days
Then directly into the tank for use.
No issues ever.

after removing the dirty socks I turn them inside out and wash with garden hose wearing gloves (in case of any worms) then bucket them till I have a bunch. then every few weeks I run the washer empty for a rinse then the socks in a laundry mesh bag without detergent. when done with machine I run an affresh tablet on tub clean cycle to eliminate odors and fish residue before the wife finds out. the socks I just hang dry afterwards. they have looked clean so far but when they discolor I'm planning to due a bleaching after the wash then a prime soak before drying them. members told me I don't need to prime since the bleach will dissipate once they air dry but I will feel more comfortable doing that extra step.

BRS has a video on their site on washing socks. they also said every 4 days to change because that's when organics start to break down.

Poseidon Flow Technologies

Old thread here but where did you find these? I’ve looked for these hybrid 2.75 socks and am unable to find them anywhere. Doesn’t seem Poseidon flow technologies sells directly or at least II couldn’t find it.

In my experience they clean just as well without turning them inside out, just choose a hot wash.

Upon reading the title of this thread, my mind went to "repurposing" filter socks. My mind then immediately shifted to my friend, @Fish Styx , because he has repurposed filter socks as personal diapers and drool pads. At least, I hope he has with all the pooping of his pants and drooling out of the side of his mouth he does.

You could always repurpose them as boot liners or hand warmers lovely white mittens hey make a great Christmas gift , and you could tell them they are expensive ARTIC MITs the Inuit wear
