How Did You Get Into Reefing?

I grew up in San Diego and my aunt would always take me to sea world and the birch aquarium as a kid. My mom is terrified of fish for some reason so I couldn't have a tank then. As soon as I moved out at 18 I started a tank and haven't looked back since. Seems like such a long time ago, I feel old now lol.

Ok... so 3 years ago my ex-boyfriend decided it would be okay to start inviting my (used to be) best friend over to my house while i was at work. Well long story short, when i kicked his butt out he tells me...ill come and pick my tank up in a couple of weeks. I had the locks changed and it became my tank ^_-

11 years ago I saw a purple tang and I knew I had to do whatever and spend however much in order to have one. Every tank I have had since then has had a PT in it.

I convinced a friend planted freshwater was the way to go. After a while we were tired of having to constantly trim and let then regrow. He said "I'm going back to saltwater" and I said "I'll do a reef and it will look better than yours"

My advantage - 29 gallon tank. His is a 180 so mine was not nearly as expensive to get going

My sister's ex husband used to keep a sw tank. Every time I went over I would check out his tank for hours. I even started doing maintenance on the tank as he was lazy. Needless to say I started a tank shortly after seeing his.
