How do YOU clean your skimmer cup?

I wear gloves, and pour the cup into the toilet. I use toilet paper to wipe the worse of it off, then rinse the remainder in the bathtub. It keeps the smell down that way. I use a dollar store scrub brush to clean the inside of the body when needed.

I clean the cup everyday on my octopus 250, I spray it in the kitchen sink and use my hand to remove anything which does not come off. I figure a clean neck and cup is better for thr performance.

Once a week or so, no gloves.

For the post that said once a year.... Holy moly. STINK. Thats why I do once a week. if it starts smelling like funky low tide in the house, the wife gets mad.

Usually I go dump it on my neighbor's car. Then I go ring his doorbell and say "Hey *******! That bird crapped on your car again! Can you believe it?"

I use bare hands. For me I’d clean my skimmer cup any day over dog diarrhea or vomit all over the floors. Or even smelly cat litter or small pet litter bed.

If you’re an animal lover, you’ve seen way worse than that.
I definitely agree!

My Skimer cup doesn't come off, only the reaction tube is removable because I built the thing many years ago. It is plumbed to a drain but it still gets yucky so occasionally I squirt hot water into it and use a smal paintbrush.

Of course that plastic bottle comes off.

Take outside in the rocks and blast it with the garden hose.. use a magic eraser with bare hands and back in action!

and for the internal body.......Dollar Tree Toilet Brush (Brush Buddies)....
don't judge.
exactly what I use. Got one cheap and it works like a charm.. Now, to clarify, I don't use the same brush in the toilet of course..
