Just wanted to see how high people have their lights? Leds, metal halides, or t5s? If you can include the depth of your tank and what you have mainly sps, LPs, or softies.

Im using 250w Metal Halides and they are 8" off the water.
Depth of tank is 24" and I mainly keep Softies but have a couple of LPS.

I'm using Acan A102AC-24 B LED, 6 inches high from my tank, depth 24", keeping mixed reef.

Over my 75, 2*250MH + 4*54 T5, older Current fixture with legs, would guess 3" from the rim of the tank.
65 2*250 MH + 2*96 PC, old Hamilton full fixture, sitting on some old CD rack shelves, about 3" --- picture below.
40 6*39 T5, TEK fixture with legs, would guess about 6" off the rim.

Don't have any temp issues with any of the tanks -- though in the A/C never gets above 75*.

Pic of the 65 just after we moved in,

My leds are 18 inches above water in mixed reef.

150W 10K DE Metal Halides with 39W actinic T5's, 1W LED moonlights, maybe 5" up from tank frame, 27" deep tank, SPS dominated mixed reef.

Here's the best photo I have showing the lights and height, taken maybe 3 years ago:
