How much electric does your tank cost you?

My red sea reefer 250 costs me about 20 a month. My lights aren't that crazy and I don't run a skimmer.
Half the year a decent chunk of that is for heating which I would need to do anyways.

Mine costs probably between $5 and $10 a month. It’s just a 28g. In the past when I had 5 tanks going (an 8g, 30g, 75g, 100g, and 180g), the power to run them was around $150-$200 a month.

After owning a bunch of systems, my current tank is probably my most energy efficient to date.
I have a 90g system that uses about 3800w per day, or 3.8kw per day. 30 day billing cycle at our electrical rate ($0.12/kwh) It costs less than $14 per month to run. My previous tanks have been 3-5x this amount!
Fwiw here is my setup...I run one return pump (mag7), my drain lines feed my algae turf scrubber (energy savings!), 2 led black boxes, 1 jebao 120 wavemaker, 1 125w heater, 1 12w scrubber led light, 1 aqualifter ato pump and that's it. No skimmer, no dosers, no controller, no reactors, no extra pumps. Simple and efficient.

I',m afraid it's a lot less than anything else I do with my tank. If BRS could set up a club that I could join for $50/month and I could buy whatever I need I'd take it instantly. Electricity bill? I don't need to see no stinkin' electricity bill.

My 210 is cheap. Using a jebao instead of my Iwaki. Uses 40w 2 x18W skimmer pumps, a 250w heater and a pair of mp 40s on 70%,, 8 hours for ocean revives sucking under 200W for all 3 lights so roughly 400w 24/7. And 200w for 8

I have been getting those for years with National Grid here in NY. "Your usage compared to your neighbors" literally EVERY house, apartment, business location I have occupied-I have been about 150% over the average, same with my friends and family-never have we ever been considered efficient even after moving into a new place and having almost the whole house empty...I swear its all bs lol
I am at around $45 per month according to my Apex. I have a 210 gallon tank w a 44 gallon sump. The biggest contributors are the 3 Ecotech G5 Blue lights, Ecotech L1 and M1 main pumps, 2 800w heaters that alternate, a 120w UV sterilizer and not to mention all the other equipment needed to run my tank. It's all worth it.

That is a lot! Lol I think now that my tank has been running for a little while I’m around $20-25 between the 2 systems I am currently running.
Once I get my rack set up I will probably be around where you are(still have to get some gear for my first tank though like a doser and an ATO for my other tank that is running.)

I run 10 medium to large tanks, 35 solar panels negates my electric bill my system is targeted to produce 14,000kwh per year which about 20% more than my consumption. prior to the panels my electric bills averages $400/month and this was before i setup the salt tanks
15g tank less than 10 a month right now. Although I would have run the ac anyways. Winter time is actually better as the wood stove makes my room about 75f during the winter with the window cracked.

Hard to say as I have two EB8's and one EB832 on my 200g. According to the EB832 I use $12.49 a month so I'm going to guesstimate < $35 a month. The EB832 has the largest draw with 1/5hp chiller, 500w heater, 1 Radion, skimmer, CaRx etc. Two Radions, two MP40's, Ozone, return pump, Bio Reactor, Co2, ATO, fuge light etc. spread across EB8's. Biggest cost savings was when I got rid of my 6ft MH/T5 fixture. Not just its use but reduction in AC costs and tank heat. Now at most I pull 8 amps.

In western Washington we are blessed with hydro power plentiful and cheap, I know when I was running 1000watt mh and hps lights 18 hours a day with all of my fans, ECT it was 75 -90 per month. I think it's 40 50 per month running three salt water and 3 fresh water.

There are some variations (approx rates, we have high and low usage rates depending on time of day) but I figure I am safe around $10/month as an estimate.
I actually made this more so because I wanted to see the absolute max amps the tank would draw. Turns out it's about 3, 20% of that circuits total capacity.
