Hi i will have a 20 gallon tank with corals and fish, a Occelaris clwonfish, pajama cardinal, mandarin dragonet, yellow watchman goby and a coral banded shrimp. The corals i will have will be a hammer, pulsing xenia, monitpora, zoanthids, and some others maybe. I am planning on feeding them with "rods food" which apparenty feeds your fish, inverts, and corals all at once. The problem is i dont know how much to feed each fish, and if i need to feed the corals by putting food on them or something. any help would be appreciated

A mandarin dragonet is probably not suitable for a 20 gallon :(

They're very difficult to feed and most require larger tanks, since they really only eat small animals called copepods. Small tanks don't have enough copepods to feed them.

Some mandarins may eat frozen foods- but most will only eat copepods and anthapods.
Without a refugium and a healthy copepods population it may starve.

The rest of the fish in your list should be fine regarding eating. Your corals tou can spot feed, or broadcast feed with the rods.

just remember - what goes in must come out- so you’re feeding habits should depend on your system. If you see no3/po4 going up- dial it back some. If it’s stable or dropping your can scale it up some.

I’m a fan of heavy in and heavy out. I like fat fish lol.
Good luck and happy reefing.

Im in the same boat with a 20g long with clownfish, firefish goby, dragon pipefish , purple urchin, sand star and 3 hermits. I also have a ton of corals. My tanks looking good so far been running for 3 months. I definitley moved way to fast and had some problems butworking through them also i fed way too much. I was feeding a mix of reef roids marine snow and mysis cube also fuel amino acids everyday.... Now im feeding every few days and my tank looks cleaner and corals look puffier. I also feed the fish pellets as needed but my pipfish lives off all my pods. I would feed very sparingly the corals your keeping wont need alot of food if any. Id say weekly coral feeding and watcher changes and pellets for your fish dailly or every other day.hope this helps. This is what my tabk looks like today.

what do you feed your fish? what pellet brand? do you feed all your fish the same pellets, or unique foods for each?

I only use Rods, live food and frozen mysis. Corals will do just fine with adequate lighting until you get accustomed to managing your parameters.

so i dont need to feed corals mysis shrimp or rods food?
There are specialized foods for corals like phyto, reef frenzy or reef roids. However if your lighting and parameters aren't good they will do damage rather than help.
