Hi,
I'm still in the process of stabilizing and recreating a tank I took over in 2015.
I now (inspired by http://fish-etc.com/aquascaping-main/on-the-rocks-how-to-build-a-saltwater-reefscape) want to add some extra depth to my landscape.
The LxBxH = 50x35x45, with a skimmer and heater in a corner.
I envision an extra elevation in one corner and now I doubt between following 3 solutions on how to create that extra volume:
1. By (buying) additional living rocks;
2. Use some left-over flagstones from my garden: cut them the right size, clean them and soak them in preparation, create my hill slope by stapling these (flat) rocks from large to small, and top it with the living rock already in my tank;
3. Make a hollow mall (what material?) and top it up with the living rock already in my tank.
Solution 2 looks most cheap and solid to me (although I'm not sure how the -calcerous- flagstone rock influences the tank water), but in 3 I keep the water volume and its stability and circulation more up.
Anyone with some experience on this one?
