I saw this video on YouTube. The coral has a really nice swaying motion going back and forth. I did some research and found a few forums saying set your power heads to pulse mode. Right now I only have a single powerhead which does not have any ability to change the mode it just plugs into an outlet, in my 16-gallon bowfront reef. What do I need to buy in order to get that back-and-forth motion? I definitely need another powerhead and I'm guessing some sort of controller to plug the powerheads into?

You would preferably need a controllable powerhead to do a swaying motion.
I don't know if you can control 1 speed powerheads.
But what you could probably do is tanke the controllable one and set it to puse then make it push in the opposite direction of the one speed one.

I should say could but from my exp w Nero models u can dial them in and achieve the results in video.
I just looked it up I see what you mean by how it has the dial built in. I always thought those things were separate and you just plugged a powerhead into them haha.

Awesome, because I just looked and the controllable powerheads are pricey. I'll try one controllable with my current powerhead and see how that does.

If it not mistaken I believe that’s @Lasse tank
He’s here on R2R

Yes it is

In this video - two older Jebao PP 8 is used. They are set on short pulse of 0.7 sec. Today I have add 2 GHL Versia stream because there is a lot of corals that block everything for me. Its a 80 gallon tank.

For a 15 gallon - you may test Jebao MLW 5 or 10 or similar

Sincerely Lasse

Am I the only one who isn’t a fan of the look? My fish seem like they are moving in jello if my pump settings emulate that.
