Yesterday I traded in my magnifica for a long tentacle anemone. I turned off my flow for a couple hours to let him adjust and get settled in the sandbed, but when i turned it back on he got carried away by the current. Then i tried digging a little hole for him to anchor his foot into, and the same thing happened. Then i tried again and covered his foot with sand, same thing. He doesn’t seem to want to grab on to anything with his foot. My sandbed in about 3” thick.
This was him just now when i woke up, the lights have not turned on yet.

I'd leave it be. It will find its place in the tank on it's own. Just make sure you have your powerheads covered.
LTAs prefer a sandbed, yes, however they will dig into the sand against a rock usually.

Update: he’s still not doing anything to bury himself at all. It’s like he isn’t able to stick to anything

It wouldn’t happen to be from the coarse texture of the sand would it?
