What about preset settings such as portrait and all that? I have read somewhere not to use portrait. I forget the other settings in my camera, still new to this.

This tutorial helped a great deal, but with my canon I can't be in av mode or it with take 10 seconds to take the picture. When I go to M the pictures are just black unless there is a ton of light. Any help on this? Thanks,

Kori
