I am a cable guy, nobody listens to me if I ask for regulations. if your internet went out they'd call me, and if your classroom reef needed a rip clean :)

A table saw is equipment that are responsible for thousands of amputations per year. How many serious injuries are there from reef aquariums? I really have no clue, but I am guessing it is a low number. I mean, last year we sent a 7th grader to the ER for eating the insides of a sharpe, kids do the craziest things.
Kids eating a he inside of a sharpie ?
This isn’t helping you at all .
and just think … this is the generation we are coddling to become what ?
The next president of the USA ?
Or even better , engineers that create the path for the future

for those crayons or licking windows is the reason we need posts such as this .

for every idiotic sign there was someone that made it necessary !
mg guess is the kid eating the inside of a sharpie didn’t help the situation at all !

I am a no gloves reefer for the most part so take my opinions with a grain of salt. . . I don't think a waiver is need for just keeping a reef tank in the classroom (assuming the teacher is responsible and is not keeping blue ringed octopus and stone fish. Also there are no students with explicit allergies or immunodeficiency). I guess if the students would be doing something incredibly hands on like fragging corals or digging through buckets of live rock, then a waiver would be good to CYA.

As long as the teacher has provided adequate education and instruction, I see a reef tank as no more dangerous than a paper cutter, stapler, tools in wood shop (we had torches in my shop class. . . not the corals), playground equipment, or the wasps nest living on the side of the school.

That said I can see the "misuse" of the reef tank in certain age groups being more likely than in others.

The real eye opener in this thread is even with our litigious society schools still have wood shop.

In the kids defense, it was at lunch time!
