Do the cooling fans only run when the light needs them or is this an issue? Light is working and no sign of overheating. Please advise. Thanks!

Yes they will come on when it's get to a certain temperature.
You can test them by setting the light at 100% for a few minutes.

It should, I would suggest testing when the house is at its warmest point. If the house is cool or cold the fan might not kick in. I have a ceiling fan above mine and the fan does not kick in that often.

If new the CS from AI/Ecotech is awesome.
Incase if needed request a service ticket with Tim Donschietz, he will walk you through the process and even can do a "logmein" procedure to see if it is a setting or a default/broken fan.

I bought a pair used less than year old. Very nice lights. Just want to make sure. Thanks for the info. Just SOL on them if they're used? Lol he gave me the receipt.
