Well over the last 3 days I have been able to remove all the rock and scrub with peroxide. It's only been 1 day but my rock looks brand new! I used 2 bottle on 3 rock formations.

Now the bad news :(

I lost my six line wrasse in the process. He must have been hiding in one of the rock formations when they were removed.

I'm pretty bummed as he was one of my first fish in the hobby roughly 3 years ago.

I've also decided I'm not buying anymore fish or coral for 6 months or more. I've lost quite a bit of coral due to the GHA and probably high PO4 that isn't showing on Hanna due to the amount of algae sucking it up.

If I add up all losses in the last 6 months it's close to 1500.

I'm going to wait until all my euphyllia have at least 5 heads and looking for 2-3 inches of growth on sps beforehand I move forward. Also want my acans to double in size. Once this happens I feel I won't be waisting money anymore as my system should be pretty stable by then. It's definitely going to take some of the fun out of the hobby for a while but this is sucking my wallet dry. I know I'll have crashes in the future but my parameters just aren't right or stable.

Alk 8-8.5
Calc 400-425
Mg 1350
Nitrates have never read above 0 using red sea pro kit
PO4 has been all over the place 0-1.8

I'm pretty sure I know why too. I didn't cook my rock. I let it sit in tank when I first started it up. PO4 and nitrates were off the charts. 60ppm each or so. I ran a biopellet reactor which took out the nitrates after a month and then used phosphate rx to remove PO4. It worked but I did t realize I needed 5-10 micron filter socks to get out the percipient. I had a dust like powder in the sum and probably also in the tank that I couldn't see due to the sand. I think this is leeching back into they system.

I just changed my reactor out from carbon to 50/50 carbon and phosban. Hopefully this will keep the gha at bay and counter act the PO4 leeching back in.

I just cant continue to dump money into coral only to have it die. I also don't feel very responsible taking so many chances with the amazing life I'm pulling out of the ocean.
